Strange question [message #4625] Tue, 18 October 2016 00:30 Go to next message

There is RRR hack(SMD), where every player have own camera. ROMs are different, but their hash are same, except md5. Well, I did removed check (md5) in mednafen-server. Now it's playable. But after save/load game got freeze(not emulator). It's happen even if game didnt get different RAM values. Example, at start game, when RAM values are same(SEGA logotype). It's seem like savestate is related with current ROM. After a reset, game starts normally. How I can remove this bug? Save/Load will be used only in moments, when RAM values are same. Probably solution to do reset before load a savestate (in code)?

If the MD5 hashes are different, the ROM image contents are different, and it's likely the state the emulated program puts the emulated machine into is going to be different, thus save states are not going to be compatible, and expecting otherwise is unreasonable.

But at start game have same RAM and VDP (etc) values and game freeze too. ROMs have same SHA1 hash, but not md5. Well, what savestate contains? Probably I can find difference (dumps from Gens Emulator)
