Mednafen 0.9.26-WIP [message #2700] Mon, 15 October 2012 00:30 Go to next message

A minor update, for some things that missed 0.9.25-WIP.

-- 0.9.26-WIP: --

October 13, 2012:
PSX: Handle non-word-aligned timer port reads and writes, rather than triggering an assert(). Also, a warning message is
now printed if a game tries to read from timer open bus space, rather than an assert() being triggered.

        More C++11 warning fixes.

October 12, 2012:
NES: Added emulation of iNES mapper 101.

October 11, 2012:
PSX: Added a "Dance Pad" emulated device, that uses mostly the same code as the "Gamepad" device, but doesn't provide
access to the shoulder buttons, and allows for opposing D-pad directions to be pressed simultaneously.

PSX: Improved emulation of bit15 of the SPU control register; fixes problems with "Dance Dance Revolution",
"Medal of Honor", "Madden NFL 2003", "Fuuraiki", and "The Misadventures of Tron Bonne".

October 10, 2012:
PSX: Fixed a bug that could cause an emulator crash if the game crashed and tried to execute code in the last 64KiB of the
        CPU logical address space.

This is actually for 0.9.25-WIP but since this is up I'll post here. I now notice with the new joystick code that I can't map buttons that are read as an axis press. I have an xbox usb gamepad that is this way with some buttons. Manually editing the button code does work.

Original XBox or XBox 360?

Which buttons?

Which OS?

Sorry, the OS is on Linux, pad is for Xbox 360 called "Street Fighter IV Fightpad".

lsusb lists: "Bus 003 Device 005: ID 0738:4728 Mad Catz, Inc.", it uses the driver called xpad.

...and it worked properly during configuration with previous versions of Mednafen? It shouldn't have...

No, it did not work perfectly. What happened before was the offending keys needed to be tapped (apparently) for within some exact duration, and failure caused button mappings to pile on. The first entry in the config file was correct, though, and the rest could be manually removed.

This version is working well for me! The PSX emulation is extremely impressive, though I'm sad that it's variably ~5-30fps too slow on both of my (admittedly not terribly speedy) laptops. I would love to get away from pcsxr and all of its per-game hackish toggles.
