MedGuiR_v0.048 fix1b looks ok for me and thanks for the new resize columns function.

Side tab > Game Utility
The symbols (folder.png?) for the FileOpenDialog buttons are missing.
First button for the "Select Bin file" is active.
Second button (below) is not active.
If you not have been selected a bin file before, you will get a "System.ArgumentNullException" error if you press
the "Make" button. In this case it is better to use/add a user friendly warning message like "Please choose first the CD image file!"

Thanks for reporting bugs and suggestion.
Unfortunately my English language continues to be terrible.
I solved the problem by displaying the buttons and replaced the text in broken English with the one you recommended.
The changes will be available in the next release of the GUI.

MedGui Reborn Beta v0.049 looks good for me so far.
Do you plan to add a controller configuration to remap the buttons for each system?
It will be usefull, especially if you use the keyboard.

Here a screenshot (Mednafen Launcher 0.7d)

A few years ago, I tried to make a configurator buttons and joypad that interfaces with mednafen or any other program that used sdl.
Unfortunately sdl and vb net not get along very well, or rather could get along as long as translate all directx input in the standard managed by sdl.
Would still be the problem of the unique id of the devices that directx is handled differently by sdl, without that I seem to have realized that mednafen not recognize correctly the joypad.
Fortunately mednafen provides the ability to configure all keys through the emulator.
I do not have much desire nor time to perform analysis on the support of the joypad, but as I said before I could post the source code of my old project (which always manages to find it) and if someone wants, could change at will in order to make it compatible with mednafen.

Hi, thanks for your work, I've having good success with MedGuiR. I have one question about the downloaded files. You mention that the exe from the GUI should be placed into the Resource folder. What about the MedGuiR folder that comes inside the archive with the GUI?

Usually i insert (not necessarily) in the archive containing MedGuiR.exe support files updated, so you have to extract the whole archive including any folders inside the root MedGuiR folder and overwrite the obsolete files.
On this occasion, I can tell you that if you force the update of MedGui via autoupdate, you will get the latest intermediate version of the Gui that allows the magnification to full screen for easier viewing of the rom grid.

Oh hello, I have three problems/questions. I set up a new installation of 0.9.34.1 and 0.049e fix and it created default settings, it seems that sound.volume was at 0, though. Took me a while to figure out why I had no sound Smile

Also, I can't set sound.buffer_time to 0 (which is autoselect, which I suppose it the best option?) because the settings slider has minimum of 1.

And finally, when selecting a .cue file and then PSX option for the CD, the dialog comes up again and I have to select PSX again. Is it because it's a cue/bin pair ?

It is strange, because even the new version of the GUI reads the settings directly from the mednafen-09x.cfg file created by Mednafen and if the file does not exist (clean install), it force Mednafen to create one or, alternatively, it picks a default file that is always a configuration file created by Mednafen.
Thanks to your report I corrected the slide that deals sound.buffer_time.
With regard to the third problem it's a known bug hard to die, I hope one day to be able to correct it.
Start from the GUI "force updating" to download the new fixed version.

@epicrean MedGui Reborn to work need the resource file, downloadable at the first post.
Download and extract it in any place, after, extract and overwrite MedGui Reborn in the same place where you extracted the file resources.
Now you'll be able to start the GUI.

Awesome work you're doing, thanks

Is the app made in C# or VB.net? If the former, is the source code available? I'd like to play around with it and see if I can add support for ecm files (as I play mostly psx games and I have most of them compressed in this format)

Hello.
The program is written in vb .net and the source can be downloaded here.
Mednafen does not natively support the file in .ecm format, however, you may integrate a converter of the above in a file format supported by Mednafen (cue/bin, img/sub/ccd).
Within the source code there is also a piece of code that allows two users to be able to prepare a online game session, exchanging ip addresses, the rom of the game to use and message.
This mode is present since version 0.049 of the GUI but was deliberately hidden because I have never been able to test it with anyone.
Plus the code is not mine but was taken from this link (of course, all credits go to the "real programmer" who created this beautiful piece of code), I am limited to integrate it in my project and I have made only the specific changes ad options to adapt it on the GUI.

For those who wish to test this option, I had implemented a way to enable it.
Open the advanced options of any game, move to the section Net-Play , move to the main form in the "Lnk" tab, in the menu of Rom search engine (combobox) type "Client" and click on the icon with the lens.

Unfortunately MedGuiR not generate any log, but you can make a stamp screen that shows the crash warnings generated by vb .net.
However I think the crash is due to a few rom in the folder that has some exotic string.

Meanwhile, you need the bios "syscard3.pce" located inside the firmware folder of Mednafen.
Physical CDs are no longer bootable via Mednafen , but you can start files .cue/.bin or .cue sheet format.
If you want to do this quickly with the GUI , you can drag and drop the file into the GUI , if you want to set the advanced parameters, just press the right mouse button on the files that appear in the list or by pressing the "shift" key on the keyboard.

Ok I think I need some help with this.

I have:

1. Extracted "Resource.zip" which creates a folder "MedGui Reborn Beta"

2. Extract "MedGuiR_v0.055 fixed.zip" into the folder created in step #1 which overwrites the files inside that folder.

3. Launch "MedGuiR.exe" in the "MedGui Reborn Beta" folder.

Am I doing it right? I still get the "Missing Resource image on Resource folder" message.

After following your instructions for fixing the "Missing resource image in Resource folder" MedguiR now works, but I'm still getting the message on startup (i.e. I open MedguiR, I get the message, then after clicking okay it proceeds to a functional MedguiR). Not a big issue, but it'd be nice to hear some insight.

Also, I'm wondering if there is a way to set filesys.path_sav to a chosen directory. There seems to be no options for changing the path in the GUI and when I try to change it in the mednafen CFG file it reverts back to the default sav as soon as I run MedguiR. I would really like to know if there is a solution to this as Medgui v1.9.99.5 has a similar issue, although it just seems to wipe any value for the general paths upon running.

Excuse me.
I had entered the missing images in the last update.
Attached you will find the files to be extracted to the folder containing MedGuiR.

As regards the problem of filesys.path_sav, it is very strange to occur.
In source code MedGuiR there is no chance to change the parameter relative to the save path, even restart the GUI that parameter is not touched.
I just did a test and checking the file Mednafen-09x.cfg everything remains unchanged.

Currently the only way to intervene on the parameters can not be modified by MedGui, it is to manually enter the parameter using the custom window parameters present in the main form.

Example:
-filesys.path_sav "C:\Users\Speedvicio\Desktop\Nuova cartella"

This should be done only once and will be written to the configuration file of Mednafen, as it is the same emulator that will change it.

At the moment you have to set the parameters for each console in the old way.
With the opportunity I have fixed some crashes that occurred sporadically and added a function to clean the favorite lists and recent by pressing right mouse button on the respective GUI buttons.
You can upgrade to the fixed version by forcing the update from the GUI or by downloading the zip file in the first page of the topic.

MedReborn uses the 7z.dll library to unpack the .rar and .7z file or to read the crc of the Rom from the zip file.
Because of a serious vulnerability in this library you should overwrite the above (32 bit version) in the folder "medguireborn path\MedGuiR\Plugins".
I have already taken steps to update all the links in the forum and the files on my server.

From version v0.100, due to a change in the contractual conditions by the provider hosting the MedGuiR updates, users will now have to manually update MedGuiR.
Download the compressed archive and extract it to the folder hosting the previous version of MedGuiR.
Subsequently the auto update function will resume operation correctly.

I had to migrate all the content to another free space (I hope for the last time), in any case in the event that this server is also turned off, the frontend will continue to receive updates from my personal server.
Due to this change old users will have to update medgui manually.

That crash error is caused by sevenzipsharp wrapper, not by medgui.
I can't block that message, usually that error appear when you try to scan or extract a damaged archive.
Try to verify your romset by extract all file with your archive manager
