Out of sync audio in Valis I (PCE-CD) [message #5116] |

Tested the Redump and Trurip images of Valis I in the latest mednafen. The game's audio is horribly out of sync, causing the characters' lips movement to not match with their voice. I attached a video file showing how bad it is.
Is there a way to make it so the audio will sync properly?

This happens to me too, and my images have been ripped from my CD using either Turborip or Isobuster (tried both, same result).
Does Mednafen emulate CD-ROM seek time? It loses sync mid way through the intro, and I believe it's because the audio starts playing too quickly after a pause for loading. I'm guessing that some cutscenes were designed with the expectation that the audio doesn't start playing the instant the track change is commanded. IIRC I had the same problem with the emulator Ootake if the seek option was set to fast.
If seek time is emulated, I can't guess what's going on.
