Hello, does mednafen allow me to play online with mega drive / genesis? I have tried it but player 2 does not connect, he enters as a spectator and not as a player.

Yes. Everyone should get a port assigned to them automatically when joining the netplay session, but you can manually swap and assign controller ports using
/take #
/drop #
/swap # #
Try having your friend use /take 2 to get the second controller port. Remember, regardless of what port you are using in netplay, you will be using the controls you binded for player 1 locally.
