Hello, I've always wished Mednafen could have a pause emulation button, like P does in MAME by default. In the absence of a universal pause button across Mednafen, is there any chance we could have the option to pause the emulation if the F1 help screen is being displayed? Just curious. Thank you very much.

Mednafen has a pause emulation button. By default is the Pause/Break key:

This. Alternatively, you can also use Alt + A to pause the emulator, which can also be used to frame step the emulator (Alt + R to resume). You can mix this with the pause break button too IIRC.
Even better, you can press F2, then pause break to remap the pause toggle key where ever you'd like, like the p key like OP described.
You can also pause the emulator by bringing up the cheat menu with Alt + C, if you want to be funny.
