AMD's FidelityFX-FSR2 is now open source [message #6728] Thu, 23 June 2022 09:45

I saw this news today, regarding FSR 2.0, an algorithm developed from AMD.

FSR (The previous 1.0 and the current 2.0) is a spatial upscaling solution for producing high resolution frames from lower resolution inputs. Designed for high performance and easy integration, it uses a collection of cutting-edge algorithms with a particular emphasis on creating high-quality edges.

The source code of it is released as open-source, at:

I admit I am in the twilight zone of my knowledge in the matter. I don't know whether all this might be relevant or useful for the mednafen project. But I understand that it deals with upscaling of lower resolution images and generating higher resolution ones from them.

So I thought of bringing here too the news I saw. At the very least it is fascinating to read about such things anyways.
