Twinview Fullscreen Problem with SDL 2.24 [message #6816] Mon, 12 December 2022 15:57
mocha  [PM]
Using Xubuntu 22.10 with Mednafen 1.29:

Starting Mednafen 1.29.0
 Build information:
   Compiled with gcc 11.2.0
   Compiled against zlib 1.2.11, running with zlib 1.2.11(flags=0x000000a9)
   Compiled against SDL 2.0.20(https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL.git@b424665e0899769b200231ba943353a5fee1b6b6), running with SDL 2.24.0(https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL.git@8c9beb0c873f6ca5efbd88f1ad2648bfc793b2ac)
   Running with libFLAC 1.3.4

After updating this desktop to Xubuntu 22.10 I guess there was some SDL2 updates because if I run two monitors both with 1920 horizontal resolution, Medanfen sees the entire width of the two monitors in fullscreen, but only when using the second screen!! For example:

Initializing video...
  Driver: OpenGL
  Display Mode: 3840 x 1080 x 24 bpp  (Window: 894 x 672)

It's a strange problem. If I set this environment variable I can choose which screen is to be used for full screen:

SDL_VIDEO_X11_XRANDR=**

If I'm on the first screen Mednafen sees 1920 horizontal. If I'm on the second screen Mednafen sees 3840.

Is anyone else noticing this recently? In the past there was some other SDL environment variables that I used to use to control the fullscreen head like this:

SDL_WINDOW_FULLSCREEN_DESKTOP=1
SDL_VIDEO_FULLSCREEN_HEAD=1
SDL_WINDOW_FULLSCREEN=1
SDL_VIDEO_FULLSCREEN_DISPLAY=1

But none of these seem to have any effect anymore with SDL 2.24. I'm left scratching my head for now.
