Would it be all that difficult to include those in the mednafen systems?
Additionally, I think they need to emphasize the NetPlay option and make it easier to use and understand for users.

Gotta be honest, short of an entire rework of the netplay implementation or even rework of mednafen's user experience, I can't imagine how it could be any simpler to understand and use. You press T to chat, like any PC game, and use commands to control netplay, like /connect <server address> to join netplay, /swap # # to swap controllers, so on.
If you need a reference for what commands you can use, then you can check out netplay's documentation page, and if you don't want to host your own netplay server, I've compiled a list of public ones run by various people.
Mednafen's documentation pages is a super useful resource for any mednafen user honestly.

Yes its a lot easier than even I could have expected after simply looking into the details better. I just think they need to have a front end with the ability to visually see and do what you want. I think it could be easily implemented into the mednaffe frontend. All the same, thank you for your response and helping show me the ropes.

Yeah, last I remember mednaffe doesn't do anything regarding netplay, but there are other frontends that do. If you care about netplay first and foremost, NullDC BEAR is great. There is also macetenafen which is solely about netplay, but I remember it being wonky but its been too long for me to remember why.
