Oddworld / PSX: Unknown CUE sheet directive and maximum allowed size [message #7023] | Mon, 18 March 2024 17:06

Hello, I'm trying to play Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee with the psx module. My PC runs Linux Mint 21 with 16 GB RAM and lots of disk space. I used cdrdao to copy my Oddworld disc to bin+cue files. The bin file is 702 MB, and mednafen fails with this error: $ mednafen -force_module psx Oddworld_Abes_Oddysee.bin Starting Mednafen 1.29.0 Build information: Compiled with gcc 11.2.0 Compiled against zlib 1.2.11, running with zlib 1.2.11(flags=0x000000a9) Compiled against SDL 2.0.20(https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL.git@b424665e0899769b200231ba943353a5fee1b6b6), running with SDL 2.0.20(https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL.git@b424665e0899769b200231ba943353a5fee1b6b6) Running with libFLAC 1.3.3 Base directory: /home/xxxx/.mednafen Emulation modules: apple2 nes snes gb gba pce lynx md pcfx ngp psx ss ssfplay vb wswan sms gg sasplay snes_faust pce_fast demo cdplay Opening lockfile... Loading settings from "/home/xxxx/.mednafen/mednafen.cfg"... Loaded 7579 valid settings and 0 unknown settings. Initializing joysticks... Loading "Oddworld_Abes_Oddysee.bin"... Error loading "Oddworld_Abes_Oddysee.bin": maximum allowed size of 67108864 bytes exceeded. If you are trying to load a CD image, load it via CUE/CCD/TOC/M3U instead of BIN/ISO/IMG. So I try that instead: $ mednafen -force_module psx Oddworld_Abes_Oddysee.cue ... Error opening CD: Unknown CUE sheet directive "CD_ROM_XA". I removed that line, but that just changes the error message; apparently every line in my cue file is an error...? Here's the full cue file: CD_ROM_XA // Track 1 TRACK MODE2_RAW NO COPY DATAFILE "Oddworld_Abes_Oddysee.bin" 66:19:56 // length in bytes: 702027312 How can I make this work? Thanks for any advice. (PS - this *does* work in PCSXR, but the audio is a little glitchy, so I'm hoping to get it working better in a different emulator.) More system details: $ uname -a Linux soma 5.15.0-100-generic #110-Ubuntu SMP Wed Feb 7 13:27:48 UTC 2024 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ cat /proc/cpuinfo ... model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz

I just discovered DuckStation, and my Oddworld file plays perfectly there, so I will use that instead. Thanks anyway!

That's not a CUE file, it's a cdrdao TOC file with the wrong file extension.
